Film: Skyfall

*sighs in ecstasy*

I watched Skyfall yesterday. I was one of the first people in East Africa to do so. I am so glad I am a blogger! Lol.

Yo.

Y'all do not even understand how good that movie was.

It was funny. It was somber. It was action-packed. It was sexy. It was...

It was perfect.

The movie was perfect. The acting was perfect. The script and the plot and THE VILLAIN and the sets and the cars and the women and the score (of course. It's Adele) and the visual effects and the opening credits and the cinematography...it was all perfect. PERFECT!

Daniel Craig delivers a STERLING performance, totally worth waiting 4 years for. And yes...he drinks Heineken. But this is James Bond. It's not like he has one drink throughout the whole movie. The Bond girl, Berenice (Severine, in the movie), is gorgeously convincing. Eve is a great driver, and I like how they've switched up the roles now...old meets new in a fluid symbiotic relationship (it's a theme that plays through the entire movie...very relevant). There's a new Q, of course, among other things. The supporting actors really support! LOL. The villain is incomparable...ok he is is comparable to only the greatest villains of all time, like Joker and Hannibal Lecter. I was staring at his surprising performance and I was like, THIS is the guy who was in Vicky Christina Barcelona? How underrated! (How does that movie have a 7.2 on IMDB? SIELEWI. And the way @donatellimg insast on that flick) My movie buddy feels they were paying tribute to past Bonds - Sean Connery (they're in Scotland at some point) and he drives the car Pierce Brosnan drove (ah, Pierce Brosnan...). Possibly one of the best Bond flicks ever. It was great. It was great!

Officially the second best movie I have seen this year. Thrilling from begining to delicious end. Delightful. Delectable. Diabolical. Divine! 5 out of bloody 5, as M would say.

Where you go I go,
What you see I see
I know I'll never be me, without the security
Of your loving arms
Keeping me from harm
Put your hand in my hand
And we'll stand

Let the sky fall, when it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together

Let the sky fall, when it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together
At Skyfall

p.s. When you guys watch it, we'll discuss the title. Gosh, I hope you love it as much as I did. I hope I don't steer you wrong. :o)

  1. fiddlesticks.... i will wait to rip it on pirate bay. as for drinking the Heineken boo!!! i was afraid that would happen. Give us back the class of the old bond.

And that score ripped a few lines from a John Legend song.

    my two cents.

  3. You had me at *.

I already had my rant over the previous sissy Bonds but Craig is the most kick-ass Bond ever. In a cage fight against BaneVoldermortbad-guy-from-no-country-for-old-men, which Bond would you rather have as your tag team partner?

P.S - I'm so jealous. I can't wait to watch this Bond. Saw the trailer for buckethead 3. Kingsley looks awesome with his funny hairstyle. I'm afraid I might end up rooting for the bad guy in that one. Lesson No.1, Heroes - There is no such thing. I almost concur.

    2. Ironman 3. Kingsley is the bad guy, Mandarin, and he looks awesome. That dude has been bald since 'Gandhi' but bad guy hair looks nice on him. This looks like it will be better than 2.

Passed by IMAX jana evening to get my tickets for next Friday and they had a red carpet and cops and whatnot all over. Will try get 'em kesho.

    4. Also. All the good bad guys in Iron Man are bald, in my head. Remeber the first Arab bald badass, then the guy who was his dad's partner, or whatever? Yeah. Although to be fair...Mickey Rourke was freakin. AWESOME.

  4. Chic plizzzzzz!!!!! ....'I was one of the first people in East Africa to do so;....' Such a poser. Why do Kenyans get caught up in such? Wouldèt u rather promote your own?

    1. POSERS-R-US!

I ain't ashamed to like it...and in case you haven't noticed, I DID review Nairobi Half Life.

You can always not read my posts kthnxbye

    2. How's appreciating a foreign film that kicks ass the same as not promoting your own? Anyone into flicks who got to see this movie early would be taking out a full page ad in the dailies.

And what's with banding all Kenyans into your imaginary specioulicious bandwagon. You imagine Kenyans corner the market for posers in the globe.

Wanna battle? Pick a better cause.

  6. watched this thing yesterday and i can't stop thinking about it. i can't. it was so beautiful, the amazing fight sequence with the colours and explosions in the background, someone showing us that 2D can be the most kickass visual sequence you see in a long, long time. and the story... my god. though i can say am not sure i want to be bond anymore. its not a happy life, plus he gets shot twice before the opening credits, best. best something am not sure what but best, this movie was best

  7. If anyone has something negative to say about the best movie this year, it won't be me. It was amazing, it was titillating, it was stimulating and it was just made for the 50 years.

Commenter who wanted the 'old' Bond back with the classics, buy the collection - movie product placement is here to stay. And at least it was Heineken.
